SUMMARY:
The Community, Health, and Equity City Council Committee will review 12 applications and recommend 6 individuals for appointment to the Municipal Golf Association - San Antonio (MGA-SA) Board of Directors. One (1) slot is vacant due to the resignation of Gabriel D. Farias. Michelle Pair was selected by the MGA-SA Board of Directors and is no longer a City of San Antonio Appointee. The terms of office have expired and the remaining 4 City of San Antonio Appointees are currently serving in holdover status and eligible for consideration. BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
The MGA-SA Board of Directors consists of fifteen members, seven selected by MGA-SA, six appointed by the City Council and two ex-officio voting members appointed by the City Manager (Xavier Urrutia and Melanie Keeton). Terms are for two years with no term limitations. The recommended appointments will serve for the remainder of unexpired terms of office to expire May 2, 2021.
ISSUE:
Board appointments require full City Council approval.
FISCAL IMPACT:
There is no fiscal impact.
RECOMMENDATION:
The Office of the City Clerk recommends approval of the Council Committee’s recommendation for six appointments to the MGA-SA Board of Directors. The recommendations will be submitted to the full City Council on June 20, 2019 for approval.
