SUMMARY:
Director to report updates on Neighborhood and Housing Services Department Programs.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
Each month the director prepares a report on program updates directly affecting the Commission and its charge.
ISSUE:
Topics to be discussed are: (a) Follow-up Questions; (b) Working Groups; (c) San Antonio Housing Trust Assessment; (d) Chief Housing Officer; (e) Upcoming Meetings
a) Follow-up Questions
During the February 26 meeting, Commissioners asked for one (1) item to be addressed at a future meeting, and four (4) questions.
b) Working Groups
Three working groups were created to assist the commission and have met during the month of June. The Outreach working group, consisting of commissioners and community members, met to discuss the format of future meetings. The Agenda subcommittee assisted in the creation of the current agenda. A third working group added two community members to interview two finalists for the San Antonio Housing Trust Executive Director.
c) San Antonio Housing Trust
Staff will update Commission on the status of the Housing Trust. The Housing Trust search committee requested the assistance of Commissioners to interview the two finalists for the Executive Director position. A working group was created of four Commissioners and two community members that interviewed the candidates and briefed the commission and the Trust on their findings.
d) Chief Housing Officer
Staff will update Commission on the status of the Chief Housing Officer recruitment.
e) Upcoming Meetings
The next regular meeting is scheduled for July 22.
