SUMMARY:
Staff briefing and Board discussion regarding the Year 1 evaluation report from Edvance Research and the National Institute for Early Education Research (NIEER) for independent evaluation of Pre-K 4 SA [Lauren Decker, Senior Researcher I, Edvance Research, Inc.]
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
This item will include a staff briefing and discussion of the Year 1 evaluation report and findings from the independent evaluation being conducted by Edvance Research, Inc. The purpose of this study is to report on the following items:
· Demographic profile of children served in Pre-K 4 SA during Year 1
· Family engagement in Pre-K 4 SA family events
· Overall teacher reported classroom practices and teacher-child interactional classroom quality in the Pre-K 4 SA classrooms
· Results from the GOLD assessment that was administered to children by Pre-K 4 SA teachers over the course of the year
Interpretations of findings as well as limitations of the evaluation and recommendations stemming from evaluation findings will also be included in the presentation.
