SUBJECT: Contract Award: Woodlawn Lake Park Improvements Project
SUMMARY:
An ordinance for the construction of Woodlawn Lake Park Improvements Project, accepting the lowest responsive bid and awarding a construction contract, including five (5) additive alternates, in the amount of $655,910.00, authorized payable to Crownhill Builders, Inc., a 2012-2017 Bond funded Project, located in Council District 7.

Project Background
The 2012-2017 General Obligation Bond Program authorized $1,000,000.00 for park improvements at the Woodlawn Lake Park located in Council District 7.
This project provides for the rehabilitation of 6,044 linear feet of the existing perimeter asphalt walking trail. The trail replacement and/or rehabilitation will be completed in approximate quarters of the overall length so as not to close the park from pedestrian use during construction. While a segment of trail is under construction, the pedestrians will be routed around the construction area on the grass. The first segment of trail to be rehabilitated will be the area closest to the island house. The trail will be widened along the spillway area on Cincinnati Street will require some parallel parking spaces to be permanently removed. The park will remain open during construction. Project construction is anticipated to begin November 2014 and estimated to be completed by May 2015.
Procurement of Services
This Project was advertised for construction bids in the San Antonio Hart Beat, on the City's website, through the TCI Small Business Office and the Texas Electronic State Business Daily in July 2014.
