BACKGROUND INFORMATION:

Project Background
On May 6, 2017, voters approved the 2017 Bond Program which authorized $400,000.00 for general park improvements and rehabilitation at Mud Creek Park. Public meetings were held in June 2018 and September 2018 to gather feedback on proposed park improvements endorsed by the Friends of Mud Creek Park.

The project will provide for a new park trailhead, the renovation of the existing restroom enclosure, a drinking fountain with dog bowl and bottle filling station, a new SAWS water service connection, a bicycle rack/repair station and the relocation of two freestanding art panels. The project will also provide parking lot improvements including LED lighting, an electronic vehicular gate at its entrance and a new pedestrian entrance at Bell Oak. The additive alternates accepted as part of this contract will include the placement of trail quarter-mile markers, a kiosk map, boulders, benches, landscaping and the relocation of the park identification sign. Construction is anticipated to begin July 2020 and estimated to be completed by November 2020.
