SUBJECT:                     116th Legislative Program & Appropriations Update

At the Intergovernmental Relations Committee meeting on September 9, 2020, the City’s Government & Public Affairs and County’s Governmental Affairs will provide a report on progress made in the items included in the legislative programs for the 116th Congress.

 

The Federal Legislative Programs are designed to provide direction and guidance to Government and Public Affairs, Governmental Affairs, and consultants in their activities with members of the San Antonio and Bear County Congressional Delegation, other key members of Congress and federal agencies.

 

The City and County Programs include several areas in common. These include: military protection, transportation infrastructure, housing/community development, public safety, workforce training, substance abuse prevention, and air quality.

 

Additionally, staff will provide a briefing on the current status of the appropriations process for the upcoming federal fiscal year.
