SUBJECT:

Interlocal Agreements for Fleet Maintenance and Repair Services and Fuel



SUMMARY:

This ordinance authorizes the City Manager or designee to enter into Interlocal Agreements with San Antonio Housing Authority (SAHA) and Lackland Independent School District (LISD) for Fleet Maintenance and Repair Services and Fuel. This ordinance also ratifies month-to-month extensions of the existing Interlocal Agreement with SAHA and LISD. Each of the existing ILAs will be terminated when the new ILA is executed under the authority of this Ordinance.



BACKGROUND INFORMATION:

The Building and Equipment Services Department (BESD) is responsible for providing fleet maintenance and repair services as well as fuel to City owned vehicles and equipment. BESD has received requests from SAHA and LISD to continue to utilize and purchase fleet maintenance and repair services and/or fuel. In addition, the City currently has Interlocal Agreements to provide these services with Bexar County, VIA, SAWS and CPS Energy at budget approved rates adopted through ordinance. Included in each of the agreements is a price list for services and commodities in accordance with budget approved rates adopted through ordinance each fiscal year. These agreements shall terminate on September 30, 2015 and may be extended for up to four (4) one (1) year periods.



ISSUE:

This ordinance authorizes Interlocal Agreements to be entered into with SAHA and LISD and is a continuation of previous agreement with both agencies. This ordinance also ratifies month-to-month extensions of existing Interlocal Agreements with SAHA and LISD.



ALTERNATIVES:

The City may elect to deny services and commodities to SAHA and LISD, which would require the entities to purchase these services from other providers. The City could choose not to rati...
