SUBJECT: A briefing providing updates on the community-wide COVID-19 vaccination efforts

 

SUMMARY:

San Antonio’s COVID-19 Mass Vaccination Hub providers will share updates on the community-wide vaccination efforts.

 

BACKGROUND INFORMATION:

Metro Health, University Health, UT Health and WellMed are mass Covid-19 vaccination providers in Bexar County.  Since January 2021, in accordance with the Texas Department of State Health Services’ guidance, each of these agencies have been involved in COVID-19 vaccine administrations to the eligible population.  This briefing will provide an update on each individual agency/provider’s effort to improve Covid-19 vaccination coverage in Bexar County.

 

The presentation will be shared by Mr. George Hernandez, CEO, University Health; Dr.  Robert Leverence, M.D, UT Health San Antonio; Maj. Gen. Jimmie Keenan, MSN, RN, FACHE, FAAN, Senior Vice President of Enterprise Clinic Operations, WellMed Medical Management, Inc; and Anita K. Kurian, MBBS, MPH, DrPH, Assistant Director, Metro Health.                                                 

 

ISSUE:

The Bexar County COVID-19 Vaccination hub leaders would like the opportunity to brief the Community Health and Equity Committee on the community-wide COVID-19 vaccination efforts.
