SUBJECT:

Funding Agreement with H/M Wilderness Oak, LTD for Infrastructure Improvements


SUMMARY:

This ordinance authorizes a funding agreement and accepts funds in the amount of $102,000.00 from H/M Wilderness Oak, LTD. (H/M), to assist in funding the design and construction of infrastructure improvements, to include a new traffic signal, at the intersection of Hardy Oak and Wilderness Oak.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION:

In an effort to address traffic issues along Hardy Oak, Council District 9 is allocating $265,000.00 in District 9 FY 2013 Infrastructure Improvement Funds to design and construct infrastructure improvements at the intersection of Hardy Oak and Wilderness Oak. This project will provide for a new traffic signal, ADA compliant sidewalk wheelchair ramps, Audible Pedestrian cross walk Signals, curbs and sidewalks at the intersection, as well as median modifications for a total estimated cost of $367,000.

H/M intends to lease property to HEB Grocery Company for the construction of a new HEB store at the intersection of Hardy Oak and Wilderness Oak. H/M has agreed to partner with the City and contribute $102,000.00 to complete the infrastructure improvements and traffic signal at this intersection in efforts to ensure the efficient flow of traffic.



ISSUE:

This ordinance authorizes the City Manager or her designee to execute a funding agreement and to accept funds in the amount of $102,000.00 from H/M, which will be added to the $265,000.00 in funding from Council District 9, in order to complete the infrastructure improvements at the intersection of Hardy Oak and Wilderness Oak at an estimated project cost of $367,000.
