Amendment to the Security Guard Services Contract
SUMMARY:
This is an Amendment to the contract with Allied Barton Security Services to allow for an adjustment of hourly wages for commissioned and non-commissioned security personnel and access control officers, and to exercise the two-year extension option with the requested amendment.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
On December 16, 2010 City Council approved the award recommendation from an RFP conducted for Security Guard Services. This contract allowed for the installation of commissioned and non-commissioned security personnel and access control officers at City owned facilities through City Ordinance 2010-12-16-1104.
Submitted for City Council consideration and action is the approval of an amendment to the Security Guard Services contract submitted to increase the hourly rate for all contract personnel through the contract extension period, and the request to exercise the two-year extension option with this amendment. The contract allowed for tax, benefit and cost of living adjustment increases.
This action will increase the hourly rates the city will pay to Allied Barton for all positions where guards and officers provide security. The new hourly rates will allow Allied Barton to continue to attract and maintain a higher quality of security officers which will provide coverage at these facilities.
