SUMMARY:
This ordinance authorizes acceptance of a contract with Wastequip Mfg. Co., LLC, to provide the Solid Waste Management Department with 16 roll off containers for a total cost of $109,200.00. Funding is available from the Solid Waste Management Department Operating Fund.


BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
Submitted for Council consideration and action is the attached bid tabulation of two bids to provide the Solid Waste Management Department with 16 roll off containers for total cost of $109,200.00. These containers will be purchased from Wastequip Mfg. Co., LLC, on the basis of low competitive bid.

An Invitation for Bids was issued and two bid responses were received. The low bid was submitted by Wastequip Mfg. Co., LLC. The 16 roll off containers will be funded through the Solid Waste Management Department Operating Fund for a total cost of $109,200.00. These containers are additional equipment to the City's fleet.

This equipment will be used for the expansion of the bulky items drop off collection sites located throughout the City. This will allow the residents of San Antonio to dispose of bulky items at designated drop off locations.


ISSUE:
This contract will provide 16 additional roll off containers to the City's fleet which meet the needs of the Solid Waste Management Department for bulky collection drop off locations. These addition containers will facilitate the expansion of bulky collection program.

These units are covered by a one year warranty.

This contract is within the scope of the Small Business Economic Development Advocacy (SBEDA) Program. However, due to the type of commodities/services being procured and value of the contract, no SBEDA tool is available.
