SAMHD-Immunospot S6 Micro Analyzer
SUMMARY:
An Ordinance authorizing the purchase of an IMMUNOSPOT(r) S6 MICRO ANALYZER system from CTL Analyzers, LLC to increase surveillance of latent tuberculosis infections (LTBI) by increasing local testing capability and capacity in the San Antonio Metro area. The purchase of a CTL-Immunospot Analyzer will permit a significant increase in T-Spot TB testing throughput, capacity, and quality by replacing manual counting methods in the amount not to exceed $67,460.00. Funding is available from the FY 2014/2015 Health Services Region 8-TB Waiver Project.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
The San Antonio Metro Health Department received a grant from the Texas Department of State Health Services Region 8 - TB Waiver Project Contract #2014-045668 to purchase a CTL-Immunospot S6 Analyzer. Acceptance of the grant was approved by City Council on June 19, 2014 in the amount of $67,460.00. This purchase will increase local testing capability and capacity in the San Antonio Metro area for latent tuberculosis infections (LTBI).
This analyzer functions to replace manual reading methods that rely solely on the visual acuity of the technologist under macroscopic magnification. The analyzer has been validated to detect, quantitate and capture images for the T-Spot TB test.
This system is Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) interface capable using multiple file export formats. The CTL-Immunospot S6 Analyzer is 21 CFR part 11, HIPAA and Clinical Laboratory Improvement Act (CLIA) compliant. The CTL-Immunospot S6 Analyzer is only available from one source, CTL Analyzers LLC.
