SUMMARY:
 
A briefing to review and approve the composition of the Comprehensive Plan Advisory Group (CPAG).
 
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
 
The Comprehensive Plan Committee approved an initial list of organizations to be part of the Comprehensive Plan Advisory Board (now the Comprehensive Plan Advisory Group) during their September 25, 2014 meeting.  The CPC also requested a recommendation for an additional organization to be part of the Medical/Community Health category along with the North San Antonio and South San Antonio Chambers of Commerce, the Real Estate Council of San Antonio, and the Greater San Antonio Builders Association.
 
ISSUE:
 
This item will provide a final review and approval of the organizations comprising the CPAG.  The proposed CPAG consists of 50 organizations representing 13 categories: Economic Development (10), College/University/Education (4), Utilities (2), Housing (1), Transportation (7), Development (7), Environmental (3), Tourism (1), Medical (3), Non-Profit (2), Military (1), Public Health (3), and Government (6).
 
Staff has identified the Bexar County Health Collaborative as an appropriate addition to the CPAG.  Additionally, staff recommends the addition of Bike Texas to the CPAG as an organization that focuses on alternative modes of transportation.
 
 
ALTERNATIVES:
 
The CPC may recommend further modifications to the composition of the CPAG.
 
 
FISCAL IMPACT:
 
There is no fiscal impact associated with this briefing.
 
 
RECOMMENDATION:
 
Staff recommends approval of the composition of the Comprehensive Plan Advisory Group, as presented.
