Reason for request: A Council Consideration Request (CCR) was received by Councilwoman Gonzales' office on November 12, 2014 requesting a street name change for Alta Vista (an alley) to recognize Jaime P. Martinez as founder and President of the Cesar E. Chavez LULAC Council No. 4626 in San Antonio, Texas and founder of the Cesar E. Chavez March for Justice.

General Location: Between S. Navidad and S. Trinity Streets

Recommendation: Staff recommends approval

BACKGROUND INFORMATION:

Planning Commission Hearing Date: December 3, 2014

Location: Alta Vista St. (an alley) between S. Navidad and S. Trinity Streets

Street segment size: Approximately 1,450 linear feet

Notices:

Notices were mailed November 27, 2014
-to 49 property owners abutting the street proposed for a name change
-Notice sent to the Collins Garden Homeowners Association
-To the present, staff has received no written response from the adjacent property owners
Analysis:

The segment of the street consists of approximately one thousand four hundred fifty (1,450) linear feet. (Attachment 2) A total of forty-nine (49) residential properties abut this segment.
