SUMMARY:

Briefing on the April 11, 2015 SA Tomorrow Community Kick-Off Event.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION:

Bexar County is expected to grow by an additional 1.1 million new residents by the year 2040. Through SA Tomorrow, the City of San Antonio will plan to accommodate this growth while preserving our resources and quality of life. SA Tomorrow is the brand for the City's three separate but interconnected growth-related plans that include the Comprehensive Plan, Multi-modal Transportation Plan, and  Sustainability Plan.

ISSUE:

The SA Tomorrow public engagement process will officially start with a Community Kick-Off Event that is scheduled for April 11 from 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM at the Alamo Convocation Center.

The purpose of the Community Kick-Off event is to begin the public engagement process of developing the Comprehensive Plan, Multimodal Transportation Plan, and Sustainability Plan. There will be interactive activities for youth and families that will help make the event exciting, fun, and informative.

Interest has already begun on social media through Facebook (Facebook/satomorrow2040) and Twitter (@satomorrow2040).  An SA Tomorrow invitation flyer regarding the event is attached to this memo.
