A request for a three and a half foot variance from the minimum five foot side yard setback, as described in Section 35-310.01, to allow a building addition one and a half feet from the side property line.
Executive Summary
The subject property is located at 2101 Sacramento Street at the northwest corner of its intersection with Colonial Drive. The applicant is seeking a variance to allow a two-story addition to the home that violates the side setback requirement. The addition is requested to accommodate the family's need for more bedrooms and an office space. The proposed design brings the west wall of the dwelling closer to the side setback than it already is.
