Renew Speech Therapy Services Contract
SUMMARY:
Possible Board approval for Pre-K 4 SA to renew and revise the current contract for speech therapy services with Assessment, Intervention, and Management through May 31, 2018 in an amount not to exceed $180,000.00 [Kathy Bruck, Pre-K 4 SA CEO]
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
On behalf of Pre-K 4 SA, the City issued a formal Request for Qualifications for speech-language pathologists, occupational and physical therapists in August 2013. A contract for Speech Therapy Services was executed with Assessment, Intervention and Management in October 2013. The contract had an initial two-year term and included the option to renew for three additional one-year terms. The current contract is set to expire May 31, 2015.
ISSUE:
Pre-K 4 SA is required by State and Federal law to provide speech therapy services to students. Due to this requirement, increased enrollment and an increasing need for speech therapy services, Pre-K 4 SA is requesting to increase the contract by $130,001.00 for total contract value not to exceed $180,000.00, and to renew the contract for the full additional three year term.
ALTERNATIVES:
If the Board does not approve the contract renewal, Pre-K 4 SA would be unable to continue services with Assessment, Intervention and Management in providing speech evaluations and services within State and Federal mandated timelines.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Funding in the amount of $180,000.00 will be appropriated in the FY 2016 Pre-K 4 SA Operating Fund and future budgets subject to approval by the Corporation's Board of Directors.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends the Board approve Pre-K 4 SA staff to renew and revise the current contract for speech therapy services with Assessment, Intervention, and Management through May 31, 2018 in an amount not to exceed $180,000.00.
