SUMMARY:
 
A resolution recommending approval of the Memorial Street Name Designation of "Bob Dickson Way" for "N. New Braunfels Avenue between the cross streets of N.E. Loop 410 and Ceegee Lane.
 
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:

ANALYSIS:
 
Council Consideration Request was received on March 30, 2015.
 
Property Address Location: Generally between N.E. Loop 410 and Ceegee Lane
 
Street Segment Size:  Approximately 1,051 Linear Feet
 
      Notification:
·      Notices mailed April 29, 2015, to 12 property owners abutting the segment of the affected street.
·      Development Service Department Website Posting April 29, 2015
·      Internet Agenda Posting May 8, 2015
·      To the present, staff has received no written response from the abutting property owners.
 
 
Inter-jurisdiction Review:
In accordance with Section 6-675 of the City Code, the following agencies reviewed the proposed memorial designation request:
·      Alamo Regional Mobility Authority;
·      Bexar County;
·      Bexar Metro 9-1-1 Network;
·      City Public Service "CPS" Energy;
·      Northeast Independent School District;
·      San Antonio Water Systems (SAWS);
·      TXDOT;
·      United State Postal Service ("USPS"); and
·      VIA Metropolitan Transit
 
The City of San Antonio did not receive any objections or concerns to the proposed memorial designation from these agencies.  The USPS approved the proposed street name on March 31, 2015, in accordance with Section 6-675 of the City Code and 35-506(h)(1) of the Unified Development Code ("UDC") (ATTACHMENT 2).  Public notice was sent out to the twelve (12) affected property owners; however, no properties will require a change of address as this request is for a memorial designation.
 
The fees associated with the request total $1,889.16.  The applicable fees are $1000.00 application fee, $54.00 notification fee, and an estimated cost of $835.16 for signage manufacturing and installation for three (3) signs.  Private fundraising for the project will be coordinated by Councilman Nirenberg's office.
 
Interdepartmental Review:
All City Departments reviewed the proposed request in accordance with Section 6-675 of the City Code.  There were no objections or concerns to the proposed memorial designation from other City Departments.
 
RECOMMENDATION:
 
Approval
