Teaching Strategies Contract Renewal
SUMMARY:
Possible Board action to approve for Pre-K 4 SA to amend the current contract for support curriculum with Teaching Strategies, LLP from $78,098.05 to $105,000.00 and to exercise a one-year renewal to last through June 30, 2016 [Kathy Bruck, Pre-K 4 SA CEO]
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
On May 21, 2013, the Board approved to enter into contract with Teaching Strategies, LLP for support curriculum for an amount not to exceed $28,100.00 for the 2013-2014 school year. In July 2014, Pre-K 4 SA entered into a revised contract with Teaching Strategies to obtain necessary supplies for the East and West Education Centers and additional classrooms for an amount not to exceed $49,998.05. The current contract is set to expire on June 30, 2015. During the November 4, 2014 meeting, the Board approved to issue a renewal letter to extend a one-year renewal for the current contract.
For the 2015-2016 school year, Teaching Strategies will provide 1,850 Gold Online Assessment student portfolios, archive 3,350 existing portfolios, online basic professional development and inter-rater reliability certification for a total cost of $22,422.75.
ISSUE:
In order to fund Gold assessment portfolios for incoming students, archives for current students, online basic professional development, and inter-rater reliability certification for the upcoming year, Pre-K 4 SA will need to increase the total dollar value of the contract. Staff is requesting that in addition to exercising the second renewal option for the contract to last through June 30, 2016, Pre-K 4 SA can increase the total value of the contract not to exceed $105,000.00.
ALTERNATIVES:
