SUBJECT:
Payment for Election Services for the June 13, 2015 Run-off Election for Mayor and Council District 7.
SUMMARY:
This Ordinance authorizes the payment for election services with Bexar County Elections Office for the City of San Antonio's Run-off Election Scheduled for Saturday, June 13, 2015.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
Section 271.002(a) of the Texas Election Code authorizes two or political subdivisions to enter into an agreement to hold elections jointly in the election precincts that can be served by common polling places.
The City entered into a contract with Bexar County on April 2, 2015 via Ordinance 2015-04-02-0236 to conduct the General and Runoff Election, but the Ordinance did not authorize payment for Election Services for the Run-off Election as the exact costs and potential Run-off would not be determined until after the General Election.
Participation in an Election with Bexar County covers expenses for programming of voting machines, election facilities, and poll workers.
ISSUE:
Adoption of this Ordinance will provide payment for the scheduled conduct of the June 13, 2015 Run-off Election.

FISCAL IMPACT:
The cost to the City of San Antonio is $851,194.81.
RECOMMENDATION:
The Office of the City Clerk requests approval of the Contract for Election Services with Bexar County.
