Summary:
This item is to review a presentation by the design team for the San Pedro Creek improvements project, focusing on public art opportunities and concepts for integration of artists and artworks.
Background Information:
The Bexar County Commissioners Court is providing funds to design and implement the San Pedro Creek improvement project as part of the Westside Creeks Restoration managed by the San Antonio River Authority and in coordination with the City of San Antonio and its Center City Development Office. Munoz & Co is leading a design team effort, which includes a curatorial committee that will guide the process for planning art projects and providing oversight and input during the selection and design phases. On May 6, 2015 the Historic Design Review Commission (HDRC) reviewed and approved a concept design presentation on plans for the San Pedro Creek improvement project.
Issue:
The SAAC Public Art Committee will consider and make recommendations regarding the applicant's presentation prior to presenting to the full Arts Commission in August.

Fiscal Impact:
Once completed, public art installations resulting from the San Pedro Creek improvements project will become property of the City of San Antonio.
