Curriculum Contract Amendment
SUMMARY:
This item requests Board consideration to amend the current contract value for supplemental curriculum with Frog Street Press, Inc. for additional classrooms added to increase enrollment.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
On May 21, 2013, the Board approved to enter into an agreement with Frog Street Press, Inc. for the recommended Pre-K 4 SA curriculum with a total contract value of $350,000.00 for an initial two-year term with four one-year renewals. This agreement includes classroom curriculum sets and Professional Development. On November 4, 2014, the Board approved to exercise the first renewal option to extend the contract until May 31, 2016. The current agreement was revised to include additional classrooms and continued Professional Development services.
ISSUE:
In order to continue future purchases of the recommended curriculum and Professional Development with Frog Street Press, Inc., Pre-K 4 SA requests to amend the total contract value from $350,000.00 to $420,000.00.
ALTERNATIVES:
If the Board does not approve to increase the contract value with Frog Street Press, Inc., staff would be unable to purchase products and services under the negotiated contract pricing.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Funds are budgeted and available in the FY 2016 Pre-K 4 SA Operating Fund as approved by the Pre-K 4 SA Board of Directors.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends that the Board approve to amend the current contract for supplemental curriculum with Frog Street Press, Inc. from the total approved dollar value of $350,000.00 to $420,000.00.
