Purchase of TeachSmart boards by Hatch Inc.
SUMMARY:
This item requests Board consideration to ratify a one-time purchase of 10 TeachSmart boards and annual maintenance and reporting services from Hatch Inc. for use by Pre-K 4 SA students in the new classrooms.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
On June 4, 2013, the Board approved the purchase of $280,454.19 in SMART Board Technology for classrooms at the North and South Education Centers. On June 3, 2014, the Board approved the purchase of 41 Hatch Interactive Display Boards for new classrooms at the North, South, East, and West Education Centers. The Hatch Interactive Display Boards operate as part of a fully integrated system that includes a large monitor with interactive software and a computer.
On June 17, 2015, a Request for Offer (RFO) referencing the General Services Administration (GSA) cooperative contract GS-35F-0496J was issued to Hatch Inc. to procure 10 Display Solution with TeachSmart boards and annual software maintenance and reporting. These boards will be utilized in the new classrooms for the upcoming 2015-2016 school year. In order to ensure timely installation and delivery for the first day of school, a purchase order was issued on July 6, 2015 for the purchase, installation and delivery of the 10 boards with the software maintenance and reporting services for a total cost of $78,636.60. The boards will be installed in each of the 10 new classrooms at the North, South, East, and West Education Centers. The North Education Center will receive five boards, the South Education Center will receive one board, the East Education Center will receive two boards, and the West Education Center will receive two boards.
