SUBJECT: Joint Use Agreement: SAWS use of City-owned property
SUMMARY:
A Resolution supporting two (2) Joint Use Agreements and a Temporary Construction Easement between the City of San Antonio and the San Antonio Water System (SAWS) to include 0.0294 acre (1,280 square feet); 0.0054 acre (237 square feet); and 0.0921 acre (4,013 square feet) within a drainage easement recorded in the Northwoods Subdivision Plat, within NCB 17474, in Council District 9, for a fee of $500.00.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
In order to minimize odors within the collection system, the San Antonio Water System (SAWS) maintains ferrous sulfate injection odor control stations and hydrogen peroxide injection odor control stations throughout its service area (sanitary collection system). SAWS has a total of fifteen (15) existing stations with most being located within the 410 Loop. SAWS sought to identify sites in the northern sector where additional odor control stations could be constructed so as to meet the demands of the city's growing population.
SAWS plans to design and install a permanent odor control station within the north central sector of the city to replace its temporary station located in the McAllister Park area. SAWS identified the proposed site, a city-controlled drainage easement within the Northwoods Subdivision. The project includes construction of new concrete slab, installation of a chemical tank and dosing pumps, eye wash station, extension of water service, Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) monitoring capabilities, electrical outlets, and other equipment and appurtenances to ensure a fully operational and OSHA compliant injection site.
