Briefing on the SA Tomorrow Public Engagement Forum to be held this fall.


BACKGROUND INFORMATION:

The SA Tomorrow initiative held a public Kick-Off meeting on April 11, 2015. The three plans have held varying levels of engagement through "go-to-them" meetings including the Sustainability Forum, the Transportation Small Meeting Series, Technical Working Groups, Plan Element Working Groups, and the Citizens Planning Institute.

The Comprehensive Plan has been working with the Plan Element Working Groups to create policy statements on nine topical areas. The Transportation Plan has been developing travel demand scenarios and corridor planning options to achieve a highly functioning transportation future. The Sustainability Plan has been working with community stakeholders to develop strategies to achieve a sustainable future and metrics to quantify and qualify progress.


ISSUE:

This item will provide a Briefing on the SA Tomorrow Public Engagement Forum to be held this fall.

The SA Tomorrow Forum will take later this fall. The event will provide informational data on the overall initiative and allow the public to provide input on all the elements of the Comprehensive Plan. Attendees will provide input on alternative multimodal options for specific transportation corridors. Finally, guest will be informed on how the success of the City toward sustainability (economic, environmental, and social) will be measured.

In preparation for this fall's SA Tomorrow public meeting, City staff will ask Community Leaders on the Comprehensive Plan Advisory Group and the Transpiration Agency Leadership Committee to encourage participation from their respective organizations.
