Summary:
This item is to brief the Public Art Committee on a temporary public art exhibit that will be located on an exterior wall of a downtown parking garage. The exhibit will consist of an interactive mural for locals and visitors to enjoy.
Background Information:
The Center City Development & Operations Department proposes to install a temporary interactive public art wall “What Lifts You” on the exterior wall of the Houston Street Garage. The installation will take place in mid-November 2015.What Lifts You is an interactive mural that invites people to reflect and share what lifts them in public space. This project was started by Kelsey Montague as an interactive mural in New York City.
Issue:
The SAAC Public Art Committee will be briefed on the applicant’s presentation to receive a first look before the public views.
