Ratification of Agreement to Provide Temporary Plumbers for San Antonio Airport System
SUMMARY:
This Ordinance authorizes the ratification of an amendment to a professional services agreement with Himjar, LLC dba VIP Staffing (VIP Staffing) to extend the termination date to May 31, 2015 and increase the contract value to the amount of $54,343.13 from the original amount of $49,900.00. VIP Staffing provided temporary plumbers to assist the Aviation Department at the San Antonio International and Stinson Municipal airports.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
On December 20, 2013, the City entered into a professional services agreement with VIP Staffing to supply temporary plumbers in an amount not to exceed $49,900.00. VIP Staffing began providing temporary plumbers in January 2014 and continued to provide temporary plumbers through May 2015 at a total cost of $54,343.13. City Council approval is required for contracts in the excess of $50,000.00.
ISSUE:
City Council approval is required to ratify an amendment to extend the term of the contract through May 31, 2015 and to increase the contract amount to $54,343.13.
ALTERNATIVES:
If the contract is not amended and extended as proposed, the additional payment due to VIP Staffing for services rendered cannot be disbursed.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Funding for the proposed amendment is available in the FY 2016 Airport Operating and Maintenance Fund.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends the authorization of the proposed amendment to the professional services agreement with VIP Staffing.
