SUMMARY:
Briefing on the SA Tomorrow Multimodal Transportation Plan.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
The SA Tomorrow Multimodal Transportation Plan as part of the SA Tomorrow initiative began with a public Kick-Off meeting on April 11, 2015. Since the Kick-Off, the planning effort has had varying levels of engagement through "go-to-them" meetings including presentations to various professional, community and student organizations. Additionally, the team has conducted a series of Transportation Matters Small Meeting Series, Transportation Matters webinar, and Partner Agency Group meetings.

ISSUE:
This item will provide a briefing on the SA Tomorrow Multimodal Transportation Plan with a review of work to date: the project prioritization tool; the bicycle component; and the safety component.
The consultant team being led by Parsons Brinkerhoff is developing a geographic information system (GIS) tool to assist in the project prioritization for future bond programs as well as future MPO Transportation Improvement Program.
The bicycle component includes a conscious effort to engage the bicycling community and to continue to build upon the success of the Bicycle Master Plan. TCI has reviewed the process used in development of the 2011 Bike Master Plan. TCI has also analyzed data and conducted community outreach to develop the connectivity with other transportation modes.
The safety component includes the continued development of plans to improve safety for all modes. TCI continues to work with key stakeholder groups on Vision Zero, Unified Development Code (UDC) update, the Major Thoroughfare Plan Update, and coordination with VIA Metropolitan Transit on its Vision 2040 plan.
