Disposition: Sale of City owned property at 501 South Main Avenue to 501 S Main St Ltd


SUMMARY:

A resolution to declare as surplus a 0.062 acre tract of unimproved land located at 501 South Main Avenue in Council District 1 and authorize its sale to 501 S Main St Ltd for a total of $33,050.00.


BACKGROUND INFORMATION:

The Petitioner, 501 S Main St Ltd, is requesting that the City of San Antonio declare as surplus and sell an unimproved parcel of land located at 501 South Main Avenue at the intersection of Cesar E. Chavez Boulevard as shown on attached Exhibit A. The subject parcel is a remnant of property that was purchased in 1967 for the expansion and development of Durango Boulevard, now known as Cesar E. Chavez Boulevard. The remnant parcel is a 0.062 acre tract of land, which equates to 2,699 sq. ft. and is described as Lot B-4, South 40 feet of B-3, NCB 927. The petitioner owns the abutting property and has been using the parcel as parking. However, if the sale is approved, they would like to combine and re-plat it with their property.


ISSUE:

This resolution will declare as surplus an unimproved, 0.062 acre tract of City owned land located at 501 South Main Avenue and described as Lot B-4, South 40 feet of B-3, NCB 927 in Council District 1 and authorize sale to 501 S Main St Ltd for a total of $33,050.00. The petitioner owns the abutting property and has been using the parcel as parking. However, if the sale is approved, they would like to combine and re-plat it with their property.

This action is consistent with City Code and Ordinances, which require Planning Commission/City Council approval for the sale or disposition of City-owned or controlled real property.
