Appointment to the CPS Energy Board of Trustees
SUMMARY:
A Resolution Appointing John Steen to the CPS Energy Board of Trustees effective February 1, 2016 for a term of office to expire January 31, 2021.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
The CPS Energy Board of Trustees convened on January 25, 2016 and took action to appointment John Steen to the CPS Energy Board of Trustees. The term for this position is to commence February 1, 2016 and expire January 31, 2021.
ISSUE:
Pursuant to Ordinance No. 83050, a nominee for the CPS Energy Board shall be elected by the majority vote of the CPS Energy Board. The nomination is submitted to the City Council for confirmation.
ALTERNATIVES:
In the event no appointment is made; the current Board Member continues to serve on a hold-over status.
FISCAL IMPACT:
There is no fiscal impact.
RECOMMENDATION:
The appointment of John Steen has been coordinated with the CPS Energy Board of Trustees, the Office of the City Attorney, and the Office of Public Utilities. The Office of the City Clerk recommends approval.
