SUMMARY:
An ordinance accepting the bid from Fitness In Motion to provide for the purchase and delivery of cardio fitness equipment for various fire facilities for the San Antonio Fire Department. Funding in the amount of $114,506.50 is available from the General Fund.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
Submitted for City Council consideration and action is the bid submitted by Fitness In Motion to provide the San Antonio Fire Department with the purchase and delivery of cardio fitness equipment for various fire facilities for a total cost of $114,506.50.
The new equipment will replace outdated and damaged equipment at 40 fire facilities throughout the City. This contract will provide the purchase and delivery of 35 elliptical machines, 21 treadmills and one upper body ergometer for placement at 40 of the fire facilities.
The alternate elliptical trainers submitted by AEGIS Fitness Solutions, LLC, BSN Sports, LLC; and AYC, LLC did not provide 40 resistance levels and a 450 pound maximum weight capacity, as compared to the specified CE 800 Spirit elliptical trainer.
The alternate treadmill submitted by AEGIS Fitness Solutions, LLC and BSN Sports, LLC did not provide a 450 pound maximum weight capacity, as compared to the specified CT 800 Spirit treadmill.
The alternate treadmills submitted by AYC, LLC did not provide a 22" running belt and a 450 pound maximum weight capacity, as compared to the specified CT 800 Spirit treadmill.
The equipment from Fitness In Motion will be covered by a standard 5 year parts and labor warranty.
