SUBJECT:

Disposition: Declare as surplus and sell City-owned property located at 1411 Guadalupe Street


SUMMARY:

A resolution to declare as surplus and sell a 0.67 acre tract of improved land located at 1411 Guadalupe Street in Council District 5.


BACKGROUND INFORMATION:

The Petitioner, Department of Human Services, is requesting that the City of San Antonio declare as surplus and sell the Margarita Huantes Learning Center located at 1411 Guadalupe Street as shown on attached Exhibit A. The property was canvassed, and has been deemed as surplus to the City's needs. The property will be disposed of in accordance with Chapter 253.014 of the Local Government Code.


ISSUE:

This resolution will declare as surplus the Margarita Huantes Learning Center located at 1411 Guadalupe Street and described as Lot 51, Block D, NCB 2437, in Council District 5. The property was canvassed, and has been deemed as surplus to the City's needs. The property will be disposed of in accordance with Chapter 253.014 of the Local Government Code.

This action is consistent with City Code and Ordinances, which require Planning Commission/City Council approval for the sale or disposition of City-owned or controlled real property.


ALTERNATIVES:

The approval of this request will allow this property to be placed on the tax rolls and generate revenue for the taxing entities. Disapproval of this request would disallow the property from being placed on the tax rolls and generate revenue for the taxing entities. Also, the City's liability would continue along with the obligation for maintenance.


FISCAL IMPACT:

There is no fiscal impact at this time since the property is being marketed for sale.
