Declare as surplus and sell a City-owned property

 

SUMMARY:

 

Consideration of the following Resolution:

 

A Resolution authorizing to declare as surplus and sell a City-owned property described as Lot 1, Block 7, New City Block 584 located at 331 N. Olive Street in Council District 2.

 

BACKGROUND INFORMATION:

 

The City of San Antonio is requesting to declare as surplus and sell an improved tract of City-owned real property known as 331 N. Olive Street, in City Council District No. 2, as shown on Exhibit “A.”  The property has been canvassed to other City departments to determine if there may be another use for the property. The other City departments did not have a use for the property, therefore; the property has been deemed surplus to the City of San Antonio’s needs. The property will be disposed in accordance with Chapter 253.014 of the Local Government Code. 

 

ISSUE:

 

Consideration of a Resolution authorizing to declare as surplus and sell a City-owned property described as Lot 1, Block 7, New City Block 584 located at 331 N. Olive Street in Council District 2.

 

ALTERNATIVES:

 

The approval of this request will allow this property to be placed on the tax rolls and generate revenue for the taxing entities. Disapproval of this request would disallow the property from being placed on the tax rolls and generate revenue for the taxing entities.

 

FISCAL IMPACT:

 

There is no fiscal impact at this time since the property is being marketed for sale. 

 

RECOMMENDATION:

Staff recommends approval of this request to declare as surplus and sell an improved tract of City-owned real property located 331 N. Olive Street.
