Consideration of Applicants to the Airport Advisory Commission (10 Slots)
SUMMARY:
The Economic and Human Development City Council Committee will review and recommend applicants for ten available slots to the Airport Advisory Commission. The terms have expired for the following categories: one (1) Airport Business Lessee; one (1) Aviation Industry; two (2) Business Community; three (3) Community; one (1) Federal Aviation Administration (FAA); one (1) Taxi Cab Industry; and one (1) Travel & Tourism. The terms of office are for the remainder of unexpired terms of office to expire March 18, 2018. The term of office for the Airport Business Lessee is for the remainder of an unexpired term of office to expire May 18, 2017. The applicants listed below qualify for appointment. Applicants who are not residents of the City of San Antonio will require a waiver for appointment.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
The Airport Advisory Commission (AAC) is comprised of 19 members appointed by City Council At-Large for staggered two-year terms. The purpose of the AAC is to advise the City's Aviation Director on policies affecting the City's airports and air transportation initiatives.
ISSUE:
Board appointments require full City Council approval.
FISCAL IMPACT:
There is no fiscal impact.
RECOMMENDATION:
The Office of the City Clerk recommends approval of the Council Committee’s decision and that recommendations for ten members to the Airport Advisory Commission be submitted to the full City Council for consideration at the Meeting on June 16, 2016.
