Briefing on the SA Tomorrow Comprehensive Plan

SUMMARY:

The Department of Planning & Community Development will provide an in-depth briefing on the SA Tomorrow Comprehensive Plan.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION:

The SA Tomorrow Comprehensive Plan is one of three growth-related plans addressing how the City of San Antonio's expected population growth will be balanced with social, economic, and environmental resources. The Comprehensive Plan will provide strategic direction for decision making and community investment to prepare our community for anticipated growth.

The major "building blocks" of the Comprehensive Plan include:
* Regional Centers
* Urban Centers
* Corridors
* Neighborhoods

Additionally, the Comprehensive Plan is organized around nine Plan Elements chapters, each of which gives an overview of major issues and challenges specific to the element with a set of goals and policies to set the direction for how our community will respond to or address the challenges before us. The plan also includes an overarching implementation strategy formed around an updated approach to the Comprehensive Planning Program for the city and which provides detailed indicators and actions.
