A staff briefing and committee discussion on proposed plans for the Comprehensive Plan and their development timelines.

 

 

BACKGROUND INFORMATION:

 

The SA Tomorrow Comprehensive Plan is one of three growth-related plans addressing how the City of San Antonio's expected population growth will be balanced with social, economic, and environmental resources. The Comprehensive Plan will provide strategic direction for decision making and community investment to prepare our community for anticipated growth.

 

The adopted Comprehensive Plan includes a recommended Comprehensive Planning Program that is the City’s coordinated approach and process for public planning.

 

 

ISSUE:

 

The SA Tomorrow Comprehensive Plan adopted Comprehensive Planning Program recommends a five year Implementation Strategy that includes completion of 13 Regional Center Plans and at least three Community-scaled plans within that time-frame.  Prioritization of the order that each Regional Center Plan is addressed will be refined through the Implementation Strategy using the criteria detailed in the Implementation Chapter of the Comprehensive Plan.
