FY 2017 and FY 2018 Human and Workforce Development Services Consolidated Funding Process Public Hearing
SUMMARY:
The City Council will hold the first of two public hearings on the FY 2017 and FY 2018 Human and Workforce Development Services Consolidated Funding Process on August 31, 2016.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
The Department of Human Services (DHS) released a Request for Proposal (RFP) for Human and Workforce Development Services for FY 2017 and FY 2018 on April 1, 2016. The RFP closed on May 2, 2016. The City received 122 proposals from 63 organizations with total requested funding in the amount of $20,370,903. Beginning July, 1, 2016, a communication black out period, approved by City Council, which limits Delegate Agency communication regarding submitted proposals went into effect. This black out period will remain in effect until the agenda approval of the FY 2017 Operating and Capital Budget is posted for City Council consideration. Applicants are only able to communicate with City officials regarding submitted proposals at two specially designated public hearings: August 31 and September 7.
Delegate Agencies were made aware of staff funding recommendation on August 18, 2016. The recommended funding allocations are included in the FY 2017 proposed budget document posted on the City's website. The Department of Human Services will brief the City Council on these allocations at the Budget Work Session on Tuesday, August 30, 2016. City Council is scheduled to approve delegate agency funding awards on September 15, 2016 as part of the adoption of the FY 2017 Operating and Capital Budget.
