Education Presentation on GOLD and CLASS
SUMMARY:
The Education Presentation will provide an overview of the Teaching Strategies GOLD ongoing assessment tool and the Teachstone Classroom Assessment Scoring System (CLASS) tool to create a working understanding of the assessments used with our students and classroom staff.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
The Board requested more information regarding key benchmarks of student learning and how progress is assessed. Documents with information related to both GOLD and CLASS were distributed to Board members during a previous meeting. Those tools will again be available to Board members.
ISSUE:
The presentation will provide information about:
GOLD - The type of assessment, the online system, scoring structure, day to day use, reporting of progress, Center and Program wide data and implications.
CLASS - The type of assessment and methods of data collection, dimensions assessed scoring, and implications for individual, center, and program professional learning and growth opportunities.
