Contract Award: (Job-Order Contract) Terminal Services Office Relocation at San Antonio International Airport Project


SUMMARY:

An ordinance authorizing a task order to a Job Order Contract (JOC) with Davila Construction Inc. in an amount not to exceed $200,000 for the relocation of the Terminal Services Office from Terminal A to Terminal B to accommodate the renovation and expansion of the Federal Inspection Station Facility at the San Antonio International Airport, an Airport Capital Improvements Funds project, located in District 9.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
Federal law requires the United States Customs and Border Protection Agency (CBP) to process international visitors for both commercial and general aviation aircraft at designated airports. The CBP, located within the Commercial Federal Inspection Station Facility in Terminal A, at the San Antonio International Airport is currently undersized to accommodate San Antonio's growing international air service. The FY 2017- 2022 Capital Improvements Budget provides for the expansion of the Commercial Federal Inspection Station in order to both comply with federal law and provide ample space for CBP to process visitors.
The Terminal Services Office manages the daily custodial duties, light maintenance, and signage operations. In order to allow for expansion of the Commercial Federal Inspection Station Facility, the Terminal Services Office will need to be relocated from Terminal A to Terminal B. This project provides for the renovation and remodel of an existing 1,017 square ft. office space in Terminal B.
