A briefing on the Methodist Health Care Ministries Homeless Healthcare High Utilizer Study

 

 

BACKGROUND INFORMATION:

 

Methodist Healthcare Ministries (MHM) of South Texas, Inc. is the largest private, faith-based funding source for health care services in South Texas.  MHM is working with Capital Healthcare Planning, a multi-service consulting firm with expertise in healthcare planning, to develop a Bexar County High Utilizer Homeless Healthcare study.  The study seeks to enlist key providers of healthcare services to collect necessary data, to define and consolidate findings, develop strategies for addressing needs and creating a model for future care and funding. 

 

 

 

ISSUE:

 

Methodist Health Care Ministries (MHCM) will provide a briefing of the Bexar County High Utilizer Homeless Healthcare study. The briefing will include the preliminary results of an analysis on the cost of high utilizers to local hospital systems from homeless persons and persons with mental health issues.
