Briefing and discussion on development of the FY 2017 Housing Commission Annual Report

 

 

SUMMARY:

 

This item includes a staff briefing and Commission discussion on planning and development of the Housing Commission’s FY 2017 Annual Report.

 

 

BACKGROUND INFORMATION:

 

According to the Mayor’s Task Force Final Report, accepted by City Council on May 14, 2015, the Housing Commission to Protect and Preserve Dynamic and Diverse Neighborhoods is tasked with overseeing the production of an annual report on neighborhood change.

 

A brief report was released at the end of FY 2016, which included background information on the Housing Commission, basic housing statistics for the San Antonio market, a timeline of Housing Commission accomplishments, and a description of ongoing work being conducted by the Commission.

 

 

ISSUE:

 

Staff will work with the Housing Commission to develop an annual report for FY 2017 that includes updated, expanded information on Housing Commission accomplishments and ongoing work as well as more in-depth information regarding issues related to the creation and preservation of affordable housing throughout San Antonio’s neighborhoods. The Commission also may suggest additional items related to their Work Plan that may be incorporated into the report.

 

The FY 2017 Annual Report is anticipated to be completed and released in early fall 2017.
