SUBJECT:

Amendment to Professional Service Agreement with Alamo Environmental, Inc. for On-Call Environmental Remediation Services for the San Antonio Airport System

SUMMARY:

This Ordinance authorizes an amendment to the professional services agreement with Alamo Environmental, Inc (dba Alamo 1) to increase the contract value in an amount not to exceed $200,000.00 to provide on-call, environmental remediation services for the San Antonio Airport System bringing the total, with the amendment, contract value to $1,200,000.00.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION:

In January 2013, City Council authorized two separate professional services agreements with Alamo1 and SWS Environmental Services for on-call environmental remediation services to provide services such as, but not limited to, asbestos remediation and fuel tank removal. Council originally approved three year agreements with an option to extend for one two-year period. Both agreements were extended and will expire on February 4, 2018.

The Aviation Department would like to increase the contract capacity of Alamo1 in the amount of $200,000.00 to provide environmental abatement services for the Customs Area Renovation project in Terminal A. Alamo1 is familiar with the architectural panels in Terminal A and how to remove them without damaging the panels. Given the Customs Area Renovation project perimeters, all work must be done at night and in an effort to avoid interruption of on-going operations of the Customs and Border Protection Agency. It is highly recommended that Alamo1 perform this work and increase the contract capacity to their contract to allow them to do so.
