Appointment of Mayor Ron Nirenberg to the SA Energy Acquisition Public Facility Corporation Board of Directors
SUMMARY:
A Resolution appointing Mayor Ron Nirenberg to the SA Energy Acquisition Public Facility Corporation Board of Directors for the remainder of an unexpired term of office to expire January 31, 2019.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
On April 19, 2007, the City Council approved Resolution No. 2007R-04-19-0455 authorizing the creation of SA Energy Acquisition Public Facility Corporation ("SA Energy PFC"), which articles of incorporation and by-laws require the City Council to appoint the members of the CPS Energy Board of Trustees along with the General Manager and CEO and the Chief Financial Officer of CPS Energy to the board of the new public facility corporation. As such, the proposed resolution would appoint Mayor Ron Nirenberg to the Board of Directors of the SA Energy Acquisition Public Facility Corporation for the remainder of an unexpired term of office commencing on June 22, 2017.
ISSUE:
Appointment to the SA Energy Acquisition Public Facility Corporation Board of Directors requires full City Council approval.
ALTERNATIVES:
The Office of the City Clerk will immediately notify the CPS Board of Trustees in the event the appointment is not approved.
FISCAL IMPACT:
There is no fiscal impact.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends approval of the appointment of Mayor Ron Nirenberg to the SA Energy Acquisition Public Facility Corporation Board of Directors.
