SUBJECT:

Release of two City-owned drainage easements.

SUMMARY:

A Resolution supporting the release of two City-owned drainage easements being 0.126 of an acre and 0.128 of an acre located in New City Block 18309 along Tezel Road located in Council District 7.  Staff recommends Approval. (Adrian Ramirez, Senior Real Estate Specialist, (210) 207-2099, adrian.ramirez@sanantonio.gov, Transportation & Capital Improvements Department)

BACKGROUND INFORMATION:

BGE, Inc., on behalf of CalAtlantic Homes of Texas, Inc., is requesting the release of two City-owned drainage easements being 0.126 of an acre and 0.128 of an acre located in New City Block 18309 along Tezel Road located in Council District 7, for the purpose of building a new subdivision.  BGE and CalAtlantic have agreed to relocate the two City-owned drainage easements to allow for proper flow.  BGE has been in contact with the City’s Development Services Department (DSD) and Storm Water Engineers to relocate the two drainage easements.  BGE has submitted a preliminary plat, Plat No. 170237, for the purposes of platting the lot and relocating the drainage easements.

ISSUE:

A resolution to recommend the release of these drainage easements to City Council is necessary so that the easements can relocated and so that BGE can proceed with the re-platting process.

ALTERNATIVES:

Planning commission could choose not to recommend the release; however, this will disallow BGE and CalAtlantic from developing the property, and cause drainage issues with the property.

RECOMMENDATION:

Staff recommends the release of two City-owned drainage easements being 0.126 of an acre and 0.128 of an acre located in New City Block 18309 along Tezel Road located in Council District 7.
