Task Order Contracts for Traffic Signal Systems Package A & Package B
SUMMARY:
Consideration of two task order contracts for the installation of Traffic Signal Systems and other devices throughout the City:
A. An ordinance awarding a Task Order Contract to E-Z Bel Construction, LLC in an amount not to exceed $2,627,254.95, for a term of three years or until contract capacity is exhausted.
B. An ordinance awarding a Task Order Contract to D&G Energy Corporation in an amount not to exceed $2,584,764.85, for a term of three years or until contract capacity is exhausted.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
Project Background
Throughout each year, traffic signals and other projects are constructed to address specific traffic or pedestrian safety needs. Typical projects include, but are not limited to, the installation of traffic signals, pedestrian hybrid beacons, school flashers, Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) devices, and any other related work. Both E-Z Bel Construction, LLC and D&G Energy Corporation have provided these services to the City previously and are familiar with the types of projects this contract entails.
The Transportation & Capital Improvements Department solicited bids for construction services and will be utilizing various construction companies to complete these projects.
Procurement of Services
These contracts were advertised for construction bids in July/August 2017, in the San Antonio Hart Beat, on the City's website, on the Texas Electronic State Business Daily, and on TVSA. Bids for Package A were due on Tuesday, August 1, 2017, and three (3) bidders responded. E-Z Bel Construction, LLC was the lowest responsive bidder with a bid amount of $2,627,254.95.
