Tricentennial Celebration Commission Update

SUMMARY:

The briefing will provide an update to the Committee on Tricentennial commemorative activities, discussion of recent organizational changes and provide an overview of the budget. 

 

BACKGROUND INFORMATION:

San Antonio will celebrate its 300th anniversary in 2018. The Tricentennial is expected to produce an overall economic impact of $120 million for the local economy, create an estimated 1,300 full-time jobs and generate wages and benefits of $45 million. The Tricentennial activities are expected to attract an estimated 263,000 new visitors to the San Antonio, spur business development and generate revenues of approximately $4 million for Bexar County and San Antonio.
