Tricentennial Celebration Commission Update
SUMMARY:
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
San Antonio will commemorate and celebrate the Tricentennial in 2018. There are numerous city and countywide Tricentennial events which are dedicated to honoring our history, our culture and the sense of community that has existed for the last 300 years. Those events will also create a legacy for the next 300 years. As a kick off for the commemorative activities, the Tricentennial Celebration Commission will host a New Year’s Eve celebratory event on December 31, 2017 at Hemisfair. The Commission has created an official website, www.sanantonio300.org and will be launching an enhanced version of that website. This enhanced website will provide a comprehensive list of all Tricentennial events beginning with the 1st Quarter and soon will be updated with the entire year’s events. The Tricentennial Commission is working with Trinity University Press to publish a commemorative book to be released in May of 2018.
