SUBJECT: Pre-Solicitation Briefing for the Hardberger Park Land Bridge Project
DATE: February 20, 2018
The Transportation & Capital Improvements Department will present a pre-solicitation briefing on the Hardberger Park Land Bridge Project, which was included in the Annual High Profile Report.
This pre-solicitation briefing will cover the solicitation type, estimated contract value, projected timeline, scope of the project, proposed scoring criteria, SBEDA Program requirements, evaluation committee members and solicitation timeline.
This project was voted on and approved as part of the 2017-2022 General Obligation Bond Program. This Land Bridge will connect Hardberger Park East and Hardberger Park West by crossing over Wurzbach Parkway. The Land Bridge will be 150 feet wide and will consist of walking trails, trees, grass, and limestone retaining walls. Trails will be ADA compliant and provide pedestrian and wildlife mobility through the Park. Additionally, a detention pond will be constructed to retain water for irrigation and electrical work for illumination will be constructed under the Land Bridge. The land bridge will include Low Impact Development (LID) features that will create educational opportunities on conservation, wildlife, and landscape. This project is expected to be completed by April 2020.
