SUMMARY:

An ordinance for the Mission Drive-In Marquee Improvement Project, a 2017-2022 General Obligation Bond project, authorizing a task order to a Job Order Contract with Kencon Constructors/Construction Managers, Ltd., in an amount not to exceed $424,760.00 located in District 3.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION:

On May 6, 2017, voters approved the 2017-2022 Bond Program, which authorized $600,000.00 for the Mission Drive-In Marquee Project, located in Council District 3.

The Mission Drive-In Marquee has hosted generations of San Antonio movie-goers when it was previously known as the Mission Drive-In Theater. The purpose of the green room is to provide a waiting room/lounge located inside the theater for use by performers when off-stage. This particular green room will have restroom and shower facilities, as well as, areas for costume change and make-up application. TCI has coordinated the construction for this project with the World Heritage Office. Additionally, the Mission Drive-In Marquee will remain open and operational during construction. Project construction is anticipated to begin July 2018 and is estimated to be completed by January 2019.

Procurement of Services:
