SUBJECT:

Agreement with J.D. Power for participation in the North American Airport Satisfaction Survey

SUMMARY:

An Ordinance authorizing a services and license agreement with J.D. Power for the San Antonio International Airport to participate in the North American Airport Satisfaction Study. The agreement is for five years with a total cost of $120,000.00.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION:

J.D. Power is a global marketing information services company that conducts surveys of customer satisfaction, product quality and buyer behaviors for a range of industries. The San Antonio Airport System would like to participate in the North American Airport Satisfaction Survey. Through this agreement, the Aviation Department will have access to the data collected by J.D. Power to make strategic resource allocation decisions for airport projects to improve the overall customer experience for passengers.

The agreement is for a term of five years for a total value of $120,000.00: $22,000.00 for year 1; $23,000.00 for year 2; $24,000.00 for year 3; $25,000.00 for year 4; and, $26,000.00 for year 5.

ISSUE:

The City of San Antonio is authorized to make procurements outside of the competitive solicitation process. This procurement met one of the 16 general exemptions allowed under Section 252.022 of the Texas Local Government Code.

ALTERNATIVES:

City Council could elect to not approve this agreement, however, that would result in the San Antonio Airport System not having the data collected by J.D. Power to make strategic resource allocation decisions for airport projects to improve the overall customer experience for passengers

FISCAL IMPACT:

Funds in the amount of $22,000.00 have been budgeted in the Aviation Operating and Maintenance Fund. Funding for future fiscal years will be budgeted in the Aviation Operating and Maintenance Budget.
